ALIKI CHRYSOCHOU- DIRECTOR

Aliki Chrysohou was born in Cyprus, and holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in music from the University of Sheffield in England (2005). Obtained Pianoforte Certificate in Advanced Performance (passed with Merit) from London College of Music & Media at Thames Valley University (2001), Theory of Music Grade 8 from Guildhall School of Music and Drama (2001) and singing exam Grade 8, Trinity Guildhall of London (passed with Merit) (2007). Was a member of Diastasi Choir (from age of 8-18) with several solo roles. Took part in Theatrical Performances in Cyprus, Greece and England of many well known Musicals including Les Miserables, Cats, The Lion King and Oliver and appeared with many internationally known singers such as Nana Mouskouri, Georgios Dallaras, Deborah Myers and Johnny Logan.
She did various solo performances all over Cyprus accompanied by string quartet and performing a variety of repertoires including those of many famous Greek composers. Was a solo vocalist at Amathus Beach hotel (one of the most prestigious and impressive hotels in Europe). Cyprus repertoire includes Greek, English, Spanish and Italian songs (2005- 2007). She served as a teacher in a Private Music School, giving lessons in both piano playing and singing techniques to a variety of ages (ranging from 6–16).
She also performed as a special Guest solo Singer at Pattichion Theatre in Cyprus, in the production Musical Moments from Moulin Rough and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. (2007)
In May 2008, she participated with Gateway Classical Music Society in New York in the performance of Rossini’s Stabat Mater and Beethoven’s Ninth at First Congregational Church Old Greenwich, CT and at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in New York, NY. She also performed in various Music Halls in Sheffield ,U.K - Athens, Greece and Cyprus during the past 4 years.
She rreceived a Scholarship for studying Musical Theatre in A.M.D.A (American Musical and Dramatic Academy). Currently she is studying at the prestigious New York’s HB studio specializing in Musical Theatre under the guidance of Eric Michael Gillet, Lorraine Serabian, Michael Blake, Helen Gallagher and many more. She is currently studying voice with Armando Mora and Marco Balteri.

Andreas Constantinou as χοσε κοιμαμαι μετισωρες


Andreas was born in New York, He is a third grader at Saint Catherine's School. He is a member of the Cephallonian Dance Group. Andrea participated in the "Apple Dumpling", Production of the Greek Cultural Center and directed by Aliki Chrysochou. He is very excited to take part at the "Vangelis in Lazy Town", directed by Aliki Chrysochou.

 


Irene Constantinou - Κ. Λιγαξέρει (Mrs. Ligakseri)

Irene was born in New York. She is a sixth grader at Saint Demetrios School. She loves dancing and singing. She takes classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Flamenco and Piano. She is a member of the Cephallonian and Pancyprian dancing groups. She is also a member of the Archdiocesan Metropolitan Youth Choir.
Previous theater credits include: "Peter Pan and Technonight of the Pied Piped Group and Company", "Christmas Carol and Climb on the Roof - Eat the Cloud of the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York", For the Love of Marikous of the Theater Group Cyprus. This is Irene's third collaboration with the Greek Cultural Center Workshop. Irene also participated in the productions " The Tin Soldier and The Apple Dumpling".

 

ELECTRA DOVAS

Electra is eight years old, born in November of 2001 in New York. A lively third grater of P.S 235 and Greek School of St. Demetrius in Astoria, which is where she also lives. Electra likes music, dancing and swimming and loves to sing and go to the movies as entertainment. She also loves to attend her dance and music lessons.
The Greek Cultural Center is her first personal contact with the theater and she thinks it’s FUN.

 

Katerina Hadjipavli

Katerina was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1999, but raised in NYC. She has demonstrated an innate love of music and dance since her toddler years. Her training in piano, dance and theatre began at the early age of 5. She has since performed in numerous piano recitals and plays. Among them is “Peter Pan”, which was performed with the Pied Piper Theater Group, “The Tin Soldier”, performed at the Greek Cultural Center under the guidance of Martha Tompoulidou, and “The Apple Dumpling”, directed by Aliki Chrysochou. She has also taken part in a number of concerts and shows in collaboration with the I.S. 141 School Choir and the Beacon Program’s Advanced Band. Although she was recently inducted into the National Honor Society, she continues with her extracurricular training in piano, jazz, modern ballet, tap and music.


Julia Kokkosis

 

Julia is 11 yrs old and is born in new york on december 3, 1998.
She was growing up in astoria and is going to school at St.Demetrios School
of Astoria. Were there she learns about her religion which is christianity,math
science ,social studies,and greek. She attends ballet, tap , jazz, hiphop, and
greek dance. She also goes to the archdeases choir which help her in her future so will the theater lessons at the greek cultural center with the great teacher Aliki Chrysochou.

 

 

GEORGE PAPAMICHAIL

 

 

George is 12 years old and lives in New York. He goes to the William Spyropoulos school in Flushing. He's been taking drama classes since he was 4 years old and is passionate about theater. George joined the Greek Cultural Center theater workshop in January and appeared in “The Apple Dumlping”, directed by Aliki Chrysochou. He is very excited about Vaggelis in Lazytown and thanks writer and director Aliki for all her help in preparing the show.
